Saturday's Session 3 Four-ball at the 2026 Presidents Cup saw a notable push from the U.S. Team. The Americans captured 2.5 points during the session, while the International Team added 1.5 points to their tally. These results moved the overall standings to 8.5-5.5 in favor of the International Team. The competition at Medinah Country Club saw aggressive play, particularly on the opening and closing holes, with the U.S. Team winning hole No. 1 and hole No. 4 in two matches each, while the International Team found success on hole No. 16, winning that hole in three of the four matches.

Competitive Openings and Halves

The day began with a tight battle between Min Woo Lee and Sungjae Im for the International Team and the U.S. pair of Justin Thomas and Jackson Koivun. The match, which teed off at 7:02 a.m., ended in a draw. The U.S. pair established an early advantage, reaching 2-up after hole No. 6. The International duo fought back with birdie wins on Nos. 7 and 9. While the U.S. Team maintained a 1-up lead late into the round, Min Woo Lee’s birdie on the 15th narrowed the gap. After the par-three 16th saw Thomas find the water, the final two holes were halved with pars, resulting in a split point for both teams.

International Rally in Match Two

Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim provided a significant lift for the International Team in the second match of the morning. Facing Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark, the International duo trailed by two holes following the seventh. A steady recovery culminated in a level match after Si Woo Kim carded a birdie on the 11th. Following four consecutive halved holes, the match turned on the par-3 16th, where Si Woo Kim delivered a birdie. He followed this with a decisive victory on the 17th, where his birdie coincided with a double bogey from Morikawa and Clark to secure a 2 and 1 win for the International Team.

U.S. Team Success in Matches Three and Four

Chris Gotterup and Cameron Young established early dominance in their match against Nick Taylor and Corey Conners. By winning the first four consecutive holes, including an eagle by Gotterup on the 4th, the U.S. pair built a 4-up lead. Despite late efforts from Conners, who birdied the 17th, Gotterup and Young maintained control, closing out the match 2 and 1.

In the final match of the session, Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns faced Hideki Matsuyama and Ryo Hisatsune. This match featured multiple lead changes, with Matsuyama putting the International Team ahead on the 13th. Scheffler shifted the momentum with a birdie on the 15th to bring the match all square. Sam Burns then stepped up with critical shots on the final two holes, including a tee shot on the 16th and an approach on the 17th, each coming within five feet of the pin. By winning three consecutive holes from 15 through 17, Scheffler and Burns secured a 2 and 1 victory, providing a strong finish for the U.S. Team.

Looking Ahead to Session 4

The teams turn their attention to Saturday Foursomes, featuring an alternate shot format where two-player teams play one ball. The afternoon lineup includes four matches beginning at 1:15 p.m. ET, with coverage available on NBC and Peacock from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET. Matches will see Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim face Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, while Corey Conners and Nick Taylor take on Russell Henley and Jacob Bridgeman. Adam Scott and Sungjae Im are paired against Cameron Young and Chris Gotterup, and the final match pits Ryan Fox and Min Woo Lee against Sam Burns and Wyndham Clark.
