PGA Tour's 2026 Schedule: A New Era of Tradition and Innovation

The 2026 PGA Tour schedule marks a pivotal moment in professional  golf, blending time-honored traditions with innovative changes that promise to reshape the landscape of the sport. From the return of iconic venues to the introduction of new tournament formats, the upcoming season offers a fresh perspective for both players and fans. Return of Trump National Doral's Blue Monster One of the most notable developments is the reinstatement of Trump National Doral's Blue Monster course as a Signature Event venue. Scheduled for April 27–May 3, 2026, the Miami Championship will feature a $20 million prize fund, underscoring the Tour's commitment to elevating its premier tournaments. This event marks the 56th playing of a PGA Tour event at Doral, a venue that has been a staple since 1962. The return of Cadillac as the title sponsor further solidifies the event's prominence in the Tour's calendar. Traditionally the season opener, the event was canceled due to drought and water conservation concerns affecting its usual venue, the Plantation Course at Kapalua on Maui. Despite efforts to find an alternative location, logistical challenges prevented the event from proceeding. Consequently, the Sony Open at Waialae Country Club will serve as the season opener, marking the latest start to a PGA Tour season since 1969. This series comprises nine 18-hole professional-only events, each carrying a £10,000 prize fund. Designed to provide more competitive opportunities for members, the series includes events like the Southern Open and the Wiltshire Open, spanning from May 18 to September 15. The schedule features nine Signature Events, contested at some of the world’s most historic and recognizable courses. These events include the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, The Genesis Invitational, and the Arnold Palmer Invitational, among others. Notably, the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday will celebrate its 50th anniversary hosting a Tour event in 2026. Fans can look forward to a season rich in tradition, with the added excitement of new formats and venues.
