The 2026 3M Open begins Thursday at TPC Twin Cities. Scottie Scheffler leads the field as he seeks his second victory of the PGA Tour season.

The 2026 3M Open Gets Underway

The 2026 3M Open is set to begin on Thursday at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn. As the tournament kicks off, all eyes are on Scottie Scheffler, who enters the event with a prime opportunity to secure his second PGA Tour win of the season. Despite having a highly consistent year, the World No. 1 is looking to add to his single victory, having contended in nearly every tournament played thus far, including four runner-up finishes among 10 top-5 results. While he has remained a dominant presence on the Tour, Scheffler has yet to secure a major victory this season.

A Prime Opportunity for Scheffler

This week offers a unique landscape for the field. Many of the Tour’s top players are taking the week off, meaning the competition facing Scheffler is not as stiff as it was during the recent major at Royal Birkdale. This creates a significant window for the World No. 1 to capture his second title of the year. Scheffler is scheduled to begin his opening round at 8:29 a.m. ET on Thursday, playing alongside Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im.

How to Watch the Action

Fans looking to follow the opening round of the 2026 3M Open have multiple viewing options. Television coverage for Thursday's first round will be available on the Golf Channel from 4-7 p.m. ET. For those who prefer streaming, PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will provide exclusive early coverage starting at 7:45 a.m. ET. This streaming service also offers featured group and featured hole coverage throughout the day.

Round 1 Groupings and Tee Times

Thursday’s action begins bright and early at 7:45 a.m. ET. From the first tee, the opening group consists of Mackenzie Hughes, Max Greyserman, and Rasmus Højgaard. Concurrently, on the tenth tee, Lee Hodges, Taylor Moore, and Vince Whaley will get their tournament started.

The field will be navigating TPC Twin Cities throughout the day, with groups teeing off in intervals until the afternoon. Notable groups to watch throughout the day include Gary Woodland, Maverick McNealy, and Tony Finau, who are set to tee off at 1:44 p.m. ET on the first tee, as well as Tom Kim, Jason Day, and Casey Jarvis, who start their round at 1:55 p.m. ET. On the tenth tee, Jake Knapp, Corey Conners, and Max Homa are grouped together for their 8:18 a.m. ET start. As the round progresses into the afternoon, groups such as Peter Malnati, Tom Hoge, and Sam Stevens will head out at 1:00 p.m. ET on the tenth tee.

With a full day of golf ahead and an open field, the 2026 3M Open serves as a crucial stop on the PGA Tour schedule. Whether watching the early morning coverage via streaming or tuning into the broadcast in the evening, viewers will have comprehensive access to all the opening round action in Blaine.
